Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse unveils festive Christmas designs in a newly remodeled family home.
There’s something truly enchanting about decorating an old home for the holidays. It’s a celebration of history, warmth, and personal touch that transforms a beloved space into a festive winter wonderland.
This Georgian-style home, built in 1939, has been in the homeowner’s family for over 60 years. The current owners moved into the home in 2022 and have been renovating it ever since, aiming to preserve the home’s original charm while creating more stylish, functional spaces. With this vision in mind and the reality of having limited time for holiday decorating, the homeowners decided to enlist the help of Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse design services. Designer Kristina Aust and her talented team expertly curated a variety of Christmas decor throughout the home, beautifully enhancing its already glamorous aesthetic.
In the entertainment room, a magnificent Christmas tree takes center stage, adorned with rich dark navy and burgundy velvet poinsettias that complement the sleek black grand piano, leather couch, and curated artworks, creating a sophisticated gathering space.
“The theme for this room is jewel tones,” Kristina says. To tie the room together, the same ornaments grace the garlands draped along the staircase and the fireplace mantel.
Moving into the kitchen, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse’s designers chose a palette of green, champagne, and gold that beautifully contrasts the light gray forest wallpaper and checkered tile flooring. The kitchen, with its bold characteristics, is adorned with jumbo-sized ornaments that serve as stunning statement pieces without cluttering any workspace.
The dining room is perfectly set up for hosting festive gatherings, making every party a special occasion. In previous years, the homeowners opted for a modest floral arrangement as a centerpiece for the dining table. This year, however, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse took it up a notch by using a lush garland with ruby red ornaments and shimmering champagne flower stems. This centerpiece not only enhances the length of the dining room but also creates a welcoming pathway leading guests into the adjacent seating area and kitchen.
Upstairs, Kristina decided to work with each room’s complementary colors. Nestled in a corner of the master bedroom, the Christmas tree showcases white snowflakes, delicate birds, playful polar bears, and finial ornaments, accented with hints of powder blue that match the room’s French toile curtains
Across the hall in the small office space, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse opted for a minimalist touch, adding just two pinecone garlands above the windows and a charming set of white wooden Christmas trees, seamlessly integrating with the room’s year-round color scheme
In the guest bedroom, which doubles as a second office, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse opted for a more modern Christmas tree design that complements the room’s vintage pink color palette. Here, the designers used various shades of pink, beige, rose gold, and peach ornaments, along with shimmering floral stems, and painted pinecones to make the room’s pink accents pop. Similar to the other trees and garlands throughout the home, soft ivory lights were used to illuminate the metallic hues of the decor, ensuring that each element radiates warmth and charm.
This year, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse is also bringing the holiday spirit to life by featuring all of these Christmas designs and more in their store. From traditional touches to contemporary holiday accents, Busch’s Florist & Greenhouse has everything needed to transform any space into a winter wonderland.
“We will have over 15 trees with different themes,” Kristina says. “The trees in this home show just some of the design themes for this year.”
