Ingredients:

  • 4 apples large
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
  • 1 pinch of flaky sea salt or to taste

Instructions:

  1. Use an apple corer to core the apples, and then slice them in half. A knife and spoon can also be used to slice the apples in half and spoon out the seeds.
  2. Scoop out a little more of the apple to create a round cavity for the filling.
  3. Make the filling by mixing the oats, melted butter, maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Sprinkle each apple half with remaining cinnamon and fill each apple with the filling. Place apple halves in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry apples at 350 degrees until they are soft and the filling is lightly browned, approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
  6. When apples are cooked, use tongs to remove them from the air fryer

Notes:

Cook apples in batches. Store any leftover baked apples in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three to four days. Freezing baked apples is not recommended. Reheat apples in the air fryer for 5 minutes or until warmed through.
