Authentic Mexican flavors await
at La Raza Market and Taqueria.

With a history of traditional Mexican cooking passed down through generations, Marisela Guevara and her family craft a variety of authentic dishes that showcase the tantalizing flavors and ingredients that make Mexican cuisine so beloved around the world. La Raza Market and Taqueria is a family-owned and operated Mexican restaurant that is bringing the vibrant flavors of Mexico to Jefferson City. Featuring a market full of authentic Mexican ingredients and specialty products, it’s a one-stop shop for food enthusiasts.

Street Tacos: Street tacos are simple, packed with flavor, and versatile. Enjoy one as a quick snack or multiple for a savory meal. These handheld delights feature small, soft corn tortillas filled with marinated and grilled chicken, carnitas, barbacoa, tripa, pastor, or buche. La Raza serves their street tacos with chopped red onion, cilantro, tangy salsa, and a wedge of lime to add a burst of freshness to the taco’s savory meat.

Burrito Grande: The Burrito Grande is hearty and will leave guests fully satiated with generous portions and bold flavors. It is made with carne asada or pollo plancha and wrapped in a large flour tortilla; covered in queso cheese; and served with a side of pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. This burrito is so big that it can easily be enjoyed for two meals.

Salsa: La Raza’s red tomato salsa, green chili salsa, and guacamole salsa are made fresh and in-house.

Chilaquiles La Raza: Chilaquiles combines the perfect harmony of Mexican flavors, textures, and aromas. It is a traditional dish that includes thick corn tortilla chips dipped in a rich, flavorful chili sauce that is made by simmering tomatoes, spices, and chili peppers. The tortilla chips soak up the sauce but still maintain a satisfying crunch. Additionally, La Raza tops the chilaquiles with chunks of steak and shredded cheese and serves the dish with a side of Mexican rice and guacamole salad.

Churros: Churros are beloved Mexican treats that are often served at festive events and offer a bit of sweetness and nostalgia. These fried dough pastry sticks are dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with a side of thick, warm chocolate sauce and dulce de leche (caramelized milk) for dipping. When combined with their dipping sauces, these churros are packed with rich flavors and never fail to bring happiness and warmth with their irresistible charm.

Bebidas (Drinks): In addition to the unique Mexican sodas and beers that La Raza sells, they also serve specialty drinks that are sure to satisfy any palate.

Micheladas: Similar to Bloody Mary’s, micheladas offer unique and invigorating flavors by combining the refreshing crispness of beer with a zing of citrus, tang of tomato, and a kick of spice. This drink mixes any of the Mexican beers that are sold in the market with a medley of lime juice, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, chili powder, and Tajín for a refreshing experience.

Agua de Horchata: Horchata is a refreshing and creamy delight. This rice-based drink is typically prepared by soaking rice in water and blending the liquid with cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar. The mixture is then strained to create a smooth and velvety beverage that is served over ice.
