Real Estate Broker

What is Promo Realty’s mission?
To exceed expectations, communicate at the highest level, and provide a never-ending stream of extremely satisfied customers that leaves everyone saying “wow” while operating a positive people growing, top producing real estate brokerage.

How did you get into real estate?
I worked my way through college at a real estate office and loved it! After graduating, I got my real estate license and began selling real estate for a boutique brokerage at the Lake of the Ozarks. It was a very competitive market, and I learned from some of the best agents in Missouri.

What sets you apart?
We are focused on creating an exceptional experience for our clients. The buying and/or selling process can be emotional and can feel overwhelming at times, which is why we are here to help our buyers and sellers every step of the way. Our team is very hands on and does an excellent job at always keeping clients informed and updated. For our sellers specifically, we are unmatched when it comes to advertising their properties to maximize exposure and achieve the highest maximum sales price. We also put a greater focus on helping our agents. Promo Realty has coaching and mentoring programs in place to invest in our agents. We really support our agents by providing them with the best marketing resources and lead follow-up tools.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew when it comes to real estate?
You cannot always time the market. The key is to own your property for at least 5 years before you sell. Selling your home too soon after buying it can potentially hurt your profits. If you hire the right listing team, then you should get the maximum current market value for your home. There is a three-part formula to get the maximum dollar for your home. If even one piece is missing though, you will leave money on the table. The right real estate team will make sure that you have these three things.

  • Perfect price – Homes priced too high can scare off potential buyers, while homes priced too low cause you to miss out on additional money. Our team can determine your home’s cur-rent market value and help you find a price that fits just right!
  • Ready to show – Get your home ready for potential buyers by making repairs, decluttering, and cleaning. We can guide you on getting your home market-ready so buyers fall in love as soon as they step inside!
  • Stellar advertising – Poor photography, lackluster descriptions, and missed marketing opportunities can not only keep your home from being found by potential buyers, but can also keep those that do find it from showing interest. Promo Realty advertises your home in multiple media outlets and utilizes professional imagery and home descriptions to ensure your property is not only found by potential buyers, but those buyers are excited and interested!

What’s been your biggest struggle? How did you overcome it?
Having the right team members who work well together is one of the things that makes Promo so great! It took a few mistakes to learn good people are found, not changed. I now have a lengthy process that I go through when hiring staff or agents — including several interviews and a personality test. I have a local business strategist that helps me facilitate this process so I can continue to hire people that will contribute to our positive team culture. I believe a rising tide lifts all boats.

Do you have any advice for those just getting started?
Depending on the source, the percentage of real estate agents that fail in the business within the first five years ranges between 85-90%. It’s important to find a brokerage team that is going to set you up for success —starting with proper training and lead flow.

What are your future goals?
My goal for Promo Realty is continuous growth––both in growing the brokerage team and building our client list to serve more of the community. I think our service truly sets us apart and I want to maintain a slow but steady growth that allows us to give our agents and our clients the time and attention they deserve.

What quote do you or Promo Realty live by?
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.” — Calvin Coolidge

What are three words that best describe your business?
Reliable, persistent, and conscientious.

When someone is looking to hire realtor, what should they look for?
You need to look for someone who is working full-time in this business. You want someone who has experience, works full time, is constantly educating themselves on the current market, and has a team behind them. It is impossible to do an exceptional job if an agent is only putting in half the time and effort or working by themselves. Do you want your agent working on designing home flyers and putting out yard signs or do you want your agent focusing on picking up the phone and telling people about your home or door knocking in neighborhoods you love to turn up a listing that is not on the market for you to buy? If agents are busy doing the clerical part of the job then they will not have time to do what they do best… sell your property or help you buy your dream home!

Do you use any tricks to keep you motivated and productive in your day today business schedule?
I plan every single day. It may end up taking a different direction than planned, but I always try to steer back to my daily plan. I have an ongoing to-do list and I always make myself do the hardest items first thing in the morning. The feeling of ending each day knowing I accomplished what I needed to and am proud of myself is enough to keep me motivated. We hold contests to see who can make the most phone calls and schedule the most client appointments. We always have exciting prizes like a spa day, gift cards, or even a front parking spot at our office. I’ve found that nothing motivates the team better than a parking spot close to the door during winter!

What are you most thankful for in your line of work?
I’m most thankful for my supportive husband. He is a great sounding board and never gets tired of me talking about my business (at least he never complains about it). I’m also extremely thankful for my team. They are all just wonderful people who are each so amazing at what they do.
