Besides the annual Oktoberfest celebration, my favorite thing about Old Munichburg is that everything is within walking distance. I often drive through this area to get home or to the grocery store, but I occasionally enjoy traveling by foot and visit these destinations along the way.

Breakfast:

Simply put, I’m a coffee lover through and through, and Three Story Coffee hits the spot every time. With single-origin coffees, blends, and different grinds, there’s a variety to choose from.

Morning activity:

I’m not one for being rushed on the weekends, so I read a book while sipping my coffee then make my way over to Busch’s Florist. I love looking through their seasonal flower displays and trinkets, and of course, I must say a quick hello to Bernie, their parrot.

Lunch:

Less than a quarter block away is a popular lunch spot called Ecco Lounge. This restaurant serves some of the best pub fares such as wings, burgers, pork tenderloin, and German potato nachos.

Afternoon activity:

After lunch, I walk to J Street Vintage to shop for anything that catches my eye and then go across the street to In The Groove Records to look through some new and used records.

Snack:

With all the walking, I figure why not treat myself and head over to Central Dairy. I make sure to take all of my guests here, not just for the ice cream but also for its charming atmosphere.

Vines on Broadway

One place you don’t want to miss is Vines on Broadway.

Evening activity:

One place you don’t want to miss is Vines on Broadway. This quaint little bar offers wine, beer, and a beautiful view of downtown. Their changing handmade food menu is also perfect for a light dinner.

Dinner:

If you’re looking for a hearty meal, Jamaican Jerk Hut serves large dishes that will likely leave you with leftovers.

Nightlife:

To end the day with a nightcap or few, The Tavern offers a full bar as well as a pool table and weekly karaoke.

If you’re looking for an afternoon of simple pleasures, be sure to give Old Munichburg a visit.
