Nick Schnieders: Assistant Vice President & Financial Planner, Central Investment Advisors
Confidence did not come naturally to Nick Schnieders. This revelation may surprise the people who know Nick as an ambitious and determined professional who achieves any goal he sets.
Nick is one of the youngest professionals in Mid-Missouri to earn a certified financial planner designation and the youngest person to join JC Rotary West. When Nick was asked to be part of his Rotary club’s board as the social chair, a fellow board member challenged him by doubling the previous year’s social goal. Nick exceeded expectations.
“Each time I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and pushed myself, I’ve grown as a person,” Nick says. “When you consistently push past those mental boundaries you set for yourself, that’s where growth happens.”
Nick has been a strong advocate for young professionals within JC Rotary West. He has pushed for more opportunities to contribute to the community, outside of donating money, to better engage members of the organization. His advocacy has sparked conversation for the club to focus more on physical service projects rather than fundraisers and donations.
For Nick, accomplishing something new is gratifying, but it is not the ultimate reward. He finds the journey of continuous self-improvement to be the most fulfilling. Nick acknowledges that self-improvement and growth are often a combination of someone’s determination and the community surrounding them.
“When you think about your individual success, a lot of it has to do with other people helping and guiding you through the wake of that,” Nick says. “Most people’s success is not fully determined by their own doing.”
Nick finds joy in uplifting and educating others, especially young students and fellow young professionals. He often gives back to his roots through service. Recently, he returned to his alma mater, Helias Catholic High School, to speak to students in the personal finance class. Nick expresses appreciation for being part of a community that uplifts other people and the fulfillment that comes from that.
“I want to be able to leave a legacy that continues on,” Nick says. “I’m thinking about what I can leave behind beyond my lifetime. I want to do something worthwhile.”
