The Jefferson Bank team gives back to their community at ever turn.

Being generous with your time and money has a boomerang effect. As artist Raymond Holliwell once said, “To give your best is to receive the best.” The Jefferson Bank team, which serves in more than 100 community activities and organizations each year, has a strong philanthropic culture and frequently gives back in this community.

When local organizations start fundraising, they often reach out to local banks first for support. Jefferson Bank provides both donations and volunteer hours to those endeavors. Each team member also goes above and beyond for customers, whether that’s through normal banking activities or changing tires in the parking lot or standing at attention to pay respect for funeral processions passing by. This culture of giving starts right at the top.

As president and CEO of the bank, Ken Theroff wants himself and his team to be pillars of the community, making a positive impact in everything they do. Theroff sees firsthand the difference community organizations can make in individual lives. He donates his time to Special Olympics of Missouri to give Special Olympics athletes leadership opportunities and the chance to participate in sporting events. Ken’s daughter, Grace, has Down syndrome and has benefited over the years from the Jefferson City training center.

Each team member is encouraged to contribute to organizations they’re passionate about and serve in the area of their strengths. As you can imagine, the list of organizations Jefferson Bank gives back to is as diverse as the team members.

Stacey Backues, Senior Vice President, Consumer Lending Manager

Stacey supports local law enforcement and serves on the Jefferson City Police Department Personnel Board. He has also been serving pork steak meals to this group for years, including recently cooking up 170 meals to support officers. His barbecue passion started 14 years ago, when he helped organize the first Capital City Cook-Off and Buck-A-Bone fundraiser for the Special Learning Center.

Stacy Brown, Mortgage Loan Officer

Stacy is currently on the Capital Arts board and is excited about their growth over the past few years, including that of their current leadership. Capital Arts, located at 1203 Missouri Blvd., supports local artists by displaying and selling their work.

Brandy Bryant, Executive Vice President, Commercial Loan Department Manager

As a woman in business herself, Brandy loves being on the board for Zonta Club of Jefferson City, a group with a mission of empowering women. Brandy is in a perfect position at Jefferson Bank to encourage women to consider entrepreneurship or business ownership.

Roger Dudenhoeffer, Executive Vice President, Consumer Loan Department

Roger has been representing Jefferson Bank in the community since 1992. He is a past Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Board Member and received the chamber’s Chairman’s Award in 2013. He is currently serving on the finance board for St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation.

Jayne Dunkmann, Vice President, Director of Marketing

Jayne’s most memorable volunteer opportunity was serving as co-chair for the United Way of Central Missouri campaign that succeeded in raising more than $2 million, the largest amount raised in the history of the organization. Jayne has served on the Salute to America board since 2010 and was the festival chair in 2011 and 2012.

Mark Mueller, Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer

Mark is a Jefferson City native and enjoys participating in activities in his hometown. He currently serves on several boards, including those for the Capital Region Medical Center Foundation, United Way of Central Missouri, Little Explorers Discovery Center, and East Side Business Association. He is also active on the athletic events committee with the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Theroff often quotes, “Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, and mirror what you admire.”  Jefferson Bank consistently gives back and continues to be here for this community, investing in its success, with an impact that will be felt for years to come.
