Clients know Huber & Associates, a locally owned company founded by Jim and Elizabeth Huber, for the full information technology services they provide for businesses. While IT services is what they do, the heart of their business, including the more than 130 employees that work there, is dedicated to giving back to the community in big and small ways.

Huber & Associates supports many charities in the community, including being a United Way pacesetter with the company matching 100% of employee donations each year. Even beyond the annual campaigns, charity events, and golf tournaments they sponsor, it is the example Jim and Elizabeth set for the whole team in serving others that stands out.

“It comes from the top down,” says Melissa Larson, Huber marketing manager. “Jim and Elizabeth are all about service and are extremely generous. Service is one of our core values, and they are always encouraging and supporting us to give back to the community that supports us so well.”

While it might be easy to make those decisions from the top, Huber also puts that ownership and pride in giving back directly in the hands of employees. Created years ago, the Huber service committee is made up of several staff with a rotating membership that brings ideas forward on ways to give back. They make homemade meals for the Salvation Army, host themed parties for Boys & Girls Club, and pickup trash regularly at McKay Park. The legacy of giving is carried on by Jim and Elizabeth’s son Michael, who recently moved back to Jefferson City and is now part of the team.

“I look up to my parents for establishing a company culture that puts an emphasis on giving back to our community,” Michael says. “The entire Huber team is dedicated to continuing this tradition by living out our company’s mission statement of having a hero’s impact for our clients, co-workers, and community each and every day.”

This company understands the balance between business and giving back, and then also having fun through it all.
