Local foodie Justin Duren tries Greenleaf Cafe & Marketplace.
Tucked away on the south side of Jefferson City, Greenleaf Cafe & Marketplace, which opened in January of 2024 on Stonehill Road, features an impressive menu that will please any palate and accommodate many dietary restrictions. The house coffee paired with a raspberry scone is the perfect quick breakfast to start the day. For those feeling a bit more indulgent, the Cinnamon Dolce latte — which highlights sweet notes of cinnamon, honey, vanilla, and quality coffee — is a warming comfort on a cool day.
For those who have time to enjoy a bigger breakfast, the Freddy’s Farmer Market Breakfast Bowl, made with organic mixed greens, cage-free eggs, shredded cheese, bacon, avocado salsa, red onions, sour cream, and a maple bourbon balsamic reduction, comes highly recommended and offers an explosion of flavor.
Billy Gun’s Breakfast Burrito, filled with eggs, cheese, chorizo, and avocado salsa, is a solid choice as well, but their great food options don’t stop with breakfast. Lunch options include soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and nachos.
Auntie Wannie’s Chicken Salad, made in-house with chicken, celery, onions, apples, cranberries, mayonnaise, and seasonings, tops the list. This delicious savory, sweet chicken salad is served with house-seasoned kettle-cooked chips. To drink, their honey-sweetened Moroccan mint iced teas pair perfectly with any meal.
In addition to drink and food options, the restaurant also serves as an eclectic little marketplace with a little something for everyone. The dining area is filled with a selection of items from candy and snacks to vintage, handmade goods, gift items, and allergen-friendly foods. Guests can shop before or after their meal and can even shop with a drink in hand.
