We, The Lincoln University Women’s Basketball Program are excited to present the 1st Annual Bowl-lo-Ween with the Blue Tigers Party on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. held in the LU Bowling Alley, located on at 819 Chestnut Street. This wickedly, fun event is designed to raise additional support for travel, hotel accommodations, new uniforms, equipment, and more.

In addition to our team members, plan for a howling evening of bowling with LU faculty & staff, community leaders, figures and merchants. We hope to gain significant local presence and participation as we raise goolish funds for a promising team. Forget Me Not Gala @ Capital Plaza Hotel

An evening of dining, entertainment and fund-raising auctions will highlight the annual Forget Me Not Gala, Thursday, Nov. 3, to benefit the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.

The evening’s activities at the Capital Plaza Hotel will start at 6 p.m. with live entertainment, a silent auction and social hour, followed by dinner, program and live auction.  Over 100 unique and creative items will be offered in the two auctions, with proceeds going to support programs for the non-profit Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.
This is the eighth year the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association has sponsored such a fund-raising event.  Since 2009 CMFCAA has served more than 600 foster families and 1400 foster children throughout central Missouri and many adoptive families.  Agency programs include “Begin-Again Backpacks” for children entering foster care, “Transitions” for high school seniors and youth between the ages of 14-17, and “Parent Training Services” for foster and adoptive parents. CMFCAA also provides support group services for domestic and international adoptive families and youth, sponsors respite events for families, and offers a variety of advocacy assistance services through our Resource Center on Swifts Hwy in Jefferson City.

The Gala is scheduled for 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person or $70 per couple  The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Mr. Larry Lambert. Event tickets can be purchased online at www.ccfosteradopt.com or by calling 573-298-0258.  Businesses wanting to provide extra support are encouraged to consider a corporate sponsorship, available from $100 to $3,000 with advertisement packages available at certain sponsorship levels.

Strut Your Style Breast Cancer Survivor Fashion Show and Fundraiser @ Jefferson City Country Club

The Strut Your Style Breast Cancer Survivor Fashion Show and Fund Raiser Campaign will be held on Monday, December 5th at the Jefferson City Country Club.  A cancer survivor exhibit & silent auction will begin at 10:00 a.m.to be followed by a fashion show and luncheon at 11:30 a.m.

The entire show entitled “STRUT YOUR STYLE” is dedicated to the celebration of breast cancer survivors with the proceeds benefiting The Community Breast Care Project (CBCP).   The CBCP is a not-for-profit foundation created for the purpose of supporting women of central Missouri. Their mission is to provide educational, financial and emotional support to the Central Missouri community regarding awareness of breast health and breast cancer treatment.

The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri One for One Holiday Food & Fund Drive @ Jefferson City Westlake Ace Hardware and new site of Orscheln Farm & Home (previously Kmart) Parking Lots off of Missouri Boulevard

What: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri One for One Holiday Food & Fund Drive
When: Wednesday, December 13th from 6 am to 6 pm
Where: Jefferson City Westlake Ace Hardware and new site of Orscheln Farm & Home (previously Kmart) off of Missouri Boulevard (2304 and 2305 Missouri Blvd.)

We will collect non-perishable items such as boxed meals, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, rice, beans and pasta.

The Food Bank will have staff, volunteers from Jefferson City Fire Department and radio personalities from Zimmer stations on hand. We also will be collecting monetary donations. For every $1 raised, The Food Bank can acquire $21 worth of groceries for our neighbors in need because we are a Feeding America member. Monetary donations also allow The Food Bank to purchase healthy items – those protein, produce and dairy items that you cannot drop into a food donation barrel.
