Genesis Medspa

Hormone Health & Wellness

What is your product or service?
DF
: Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for men and women with a focus on wellness and health prevention.

When and how did you get into this industry?
DF:
I started 7 years ago. I was a local OBGYN for 33 years before that and I did not like what we had to offer women when it came to postpartum depression and menopause. I researched extensively for the best way to provide bioidentical hormones and not synthetic hormones.
SP: I have worked with Genesis for 6 years starting out as a nurse in our vein clinic and transitioned into my current Nurse Practitioner role for our vein clinic and wellness division one and a half years ago. My interest was the wellness aspect of chronic health prevention and the promotion of overall wellness.

What sets you apart?
DF:
Experience and results.
SP: I take a very individualized and holistic approach. No two people are the same, so no two people should be treated in the exact same way.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew when it comes to this industry?
SP:
I would have to pick two. I wish people knew that bioidentical hormones are safe and that no one must settle for feeling anything but their best.
DF: Bioidentical hormone treatments are the only long-term therapy that helps improve long-term health and enable clients to have a zest for life again.

What are the top three skills needed to be a master in your industry?
SP:
Patience, critical thinking, and listening skills/communication.
DF: Experience, educating patients, and surgical skills.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
SP:
Educating patients is the absolute favorite part of my job.
DF: Changing lives through optimization.

What quote do you live by?
SP:
“Life is all about how you handle plan B” is a quote that I have loved for a very longtime, and really fits well with this business. What we do is so individualized, so our treatment plan is rarely perfect at the very first visit. So having the knowledge, the patience, and the ability to adapt to a different plan is paramount.

What are you most thankful for in your line of work?
SP:
The team that I work with is amazing and I couldn’t do what I do without all of them.
DF: Our ability to help people.

Do you feel like you have work/life balance? If so, how do you do it?
SP:
I have a great work/life balance. I really enjoy my line of work which makes it easy to come to work every day. I am also fortunate that with my line of work, I don’t have to take a lot home with me, which allows me to leave any stressors at work so I can have quality time with my family.
DF: Yes because I don’t consider it work.
