Mid-MO House Calls

Chiropractic & Acupuncture

When and how did you get into this industry?
Prior to healthcare, I worked landscaping and lawn care for about 7 years. After a back injury, I was amazed by the results I had with chiropractic and how quickly I recovered. It changed my outlook on how the body functions and performs, which is why I’m so passionate about what I do.

What sets you apart?
Other than offering both on-site care and a physical location for patients to be seen, I repeatedly get compliments on my treatment approach and style. Every person is unique and different, so not everyone receives the same treatments and modalities. Each visit ranges from 15-20 minutes of face-to-face time consisting of adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and exercises in order to achieve the greatest benefit possible and reach the patient’s specific goals.

How do you stay current with changes in your industry?
In addition to attending multiple hands-on, in-person seminars each year, I’m a member of different organizations which send out all the current research and findings happening in the field.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew?
It’s so much more than just neck and low back pain. Chiropractic and acupuncture can help with numerous conditions ranging from other musculoskeletal issues, sports injuries, extremity pain to anxiety, depression, and stress. I always encourage anyone with questions to take advantage of our complimentary case review to see if we can help.

What’s been your biggest struggle?
The biggest struggle by far has to be starting the business. As a new entrepreneur, no one prepares you for the struggles you’ll encounter while growing a business. Yes, you may have a great product or service, but if no one knows about it then you won’t be able to help them. You have to get out there and connect with the people in the community.

How do you define success?
To me, success consists of being able to live the life you want and having the freedom to do so. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or over the top, just whatever makes you happy. That’s all that matters.

What are the top three skills needed to be a master in your industry?
1. The ability to correctly diagnose the problem.
2. Know the proper treatment protocols to help with that problem.
3. Have the skills to perform those treatments or refer to a provider who does.

What are your future goals?
I like to keep my goals pretty close to heart, but I can say they include having multiple health and wellness businesses in the area.

What motto does your company live by?
Move better, feel better, live better.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Helping others feel better and take back control of their lives, especially when it has been a chronic health issue they have been dealing with. I also can’t leave out the fact that providing on-site care has brought me to many different and unique locations.

What are three words that best describe your business?
We get results!

Do you have any advice for those just getting started?
You need to get out there, meet people, and grow your network. Even if someone isn’t in the market for your product or service now, they may be in the future or may know someone who is.

Do you use any tricks to keep you motivated and productive?
I use what’s called a power list. I write down 3-5 things that I need to accomplish that day and cross them out as they are completed.

What is your favorite way to unwind?
The golf course and the sauna.

What are you most thankful for in your line of work?
The ability to help others.

Who is a good candidate for acupuncture?
Acupuncture can help with many different conditions. Including musculoskeletal problems, stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, vertigo, detoxification, fertility issues, cosmetic facial enhancement and others. I encourage anyone with questions to contact us and see if acupuncture can help.

How can chiropractic and acupuncture care compliment each other?
Both are great standalone options to help improve any imbalances in your body and promote the healing process. When used in conjunction with each other, we tend to see an overall increase in recovery time and results.
