Moberly Motorsports Park brings high-octane excitement to Mid-Missouri with heart-pounding dirt track racing and strong sense of community among fans and drivers alike.

Dirt track racing is a high-octane event that captures the raw spirit of motorsports. With roaring engines, flying mud, and side-by-side action on oval-shaped dirt tracks, this grassroots form of racing is gritty, thrilling, and fast. Race fans flock to local tracks across the country to witness heart-pounding battles under the lights — it’s a community, a tradition, and an American pastime where speed meets skill.

Moberly Motorsports Park — originally known as Moberly Motorsports Complex — was built from the vision of Bob Whitehead. Bob spearheaded the construction of the dirt track in 1988, later expanding it into a high-banked, half-mile oval tailor-made for sprint cars. Over the years, the facility evolved under multiple names, including Randolph County Raceway and 24 Raceway, while still operating under the Whitehead family and hosting traditions like the annual Bob Whitehead Memorial, reuniting generations of racers.

In 2022, new ownership under Mid-America Motorsports Park, LLC drew up plans for fresh seating, revamped track surfaces, and modern amenities.

Today, the park hosts a vibrant lineup of events, such as dirt drags and fan appreciation nights, on a 4/10-mile track. Trophy Tuesdays feature a variety of stock car classes, including late models, A-mods, B-mods, super stocks, and hornets.

One of their most well-known events is the festive Wiener Nationals. The annual Wiener Nationals, being held on August 31 this year, is a vibrant celebration and a community tradition. First held in 2021, the event now includes exciting racing action with multiple races, the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile as the pace car, food trucks, a hot dog eating contest, and live musical entertainment with special guests. This event is perfect for racing fans and families alike, and has raised over $40,000 from proceeds donated to local families and organizations in the past four years.

In addition, Moberly Motorsports Park keeps the energy high at intermission during weekly races with live musical entertainment. Each week, local bands like the Norm Ruebling Band and solo artists like Ruby Leigh and Terry Phillips, who impersonates Elvis, take the stage to entertain the crowd, adding a lively soundtrack to an already action-packed night. From country tunes to classic rock, the performances give fans a chance to relax, dance, and enjoy the community spirit that makes race nights at Moberly Motorsports Park unforgettable.

Moberly Motorsports Park has long been more than just a track — it’s a gathering place where race fans become like family. With each speeding car and cheering fan from the stands, the park continues to uphold a tradition of camaraderie and pure racing excitement. Generations of fans have found a home at Moberly, drawn together by a shared passion for dirt track racing and the thrill of competition. As the engines fire up each weekend, the park proudly remains a place where memories are made, friendships are forged, and the spirit of racing lives on.
