Kristen and Josh Ferguson

As newlyweds, we’re always looking for great places to spend time with each other, family, and friends. Having both grown up in Jefferson City, we have many places that are near and dear to our hearts, but here are a few of our favorite places that we enjoy together. We encourage you to check them out and keep the romance alive.

Shopping for Something Fun
We are both big outdoor enthusiasts who love to hike and bike. Naturally, two of our favorite places to shop in Jefferson City are the local bike shops. Not only do we get to shop for something fun and adventurous, but the owners are also great mentors for all your biking needs and love to talk about all the trails we have here in town. Mark, at Cycle Depot, is extremely friendly and  knowledgeable, and he’s helped fit serveral bikes for us. Nick, at Red Wheel Bike Shop, has shown generosity by donating several items to YMCA events and has helped fix the “Green Ghost” (Josh’s bike) on many occasions.

New and Delicious
Earlier in the year, we ordered a lemon blueberry wedding cake and cookie desserts that came from an up-and-coming home business in Jefferson City called Dot Bakes. They were an absolute hit with all of our wedding guests. If you have a sweet tooth and are looking for something unique, they are a must try! Emily Duncan, the owner, is very kind and easy to work with. We highly recommend her for your next get-together or special occasion.

Local Scenery
We enjoy taking in the sights of the Missouri River as we bike on the Katy Trail and spending time at our local parks. Jaycee Park Lake is a great place to walk around and fish. Riverside Park is also great for walking and, if you’re feeling a bit playful, the occasional handball match. The parks are also perfect for date nights. There’s nothing like an evening stroll together as the sun sets.
