CITY FIT is a year-long program pairing local, certified personal trainers with community members who are serious about making lifestyle changes in 2021. In every issue, CITY Magazine will be documenting their journey, updating readers with not only the number on the scale, but also skeletal muscle mass, percentage of body fat, BMI, and photos. What’s your plan to stay active during the summer?
I’m typically an active person at heart, especially in the summer. I love to swim, bike, rock climb, surf, and wakeboard.

How do you incorporate the outdoors into your workouts?
When not working out at Studio573, I love to go on runs and walks in my neighborhood or bike the Katy Trail.

Do you have a favorite outdoor activity that helps keep you active?
Definitely walks in the morning or evening. It’s nice to get out and not be distracted by work or life in general — it’s very soothing!

What outdoor exercises have you done with Studio573?
Nick Baker and Erin Bidlack like to get creative with their workouts and make it fun when the weather is nice. Nick and I recently hiked down to Binder Lake with weights in hand and did our workout routine right next to the water. Erin and a group of us also went for a bike ride on the Katy Trail. Outdoor workouts are the best because it’s more fun than work.

What’s your plan to stay active during the summer?
In the summertime, we are outside constantly. I plan to continue my workouts at Studio573 while also taking walks with my family and running around outside.

How do you incorporate the outdoors into your workouts?
I try to be outside as much as possible with my family. We try to take walks at night. Not only does this help me get my steps in, but it also helps tire out an energetic toddler. Working out outside on a beautiful day definitely improves my mood.

Do you have a favorite outdoor activity that helps keep you active?
Anything outside with my family I have fun doing. We like to get in as much activity as possible.

 What outdoor exercises have you done with Studio573?
I have went outside with Jill’s sweat class and had a lot of fun. It was nice to have some different scenery and fresh air! We did a lot of squats and used weighted balls for several exercises.

Keep up with a workout schedule of five to six Studio573 classes per week.

I keep active with my children and wife on the farm and around the yard.

I really enjoy doing yard work and doing projects around the house.

What outdoor exercises have you done with Studio573?
I attended the 2021 Tough Mudder Race with my Studio573 teammates and had a great time and a good workout.
