It’s all about details! In open concept homes, we help find fixtures for clients that have a connection to each other. We may look for several finishes that coordinate in the large space. Fixtures don’t have to match exactly, but they can be from the same family, have a similar design, or have elements that play off each other. The style you choose dictates your preferences and can be both diverse and cohesive.
With kitchen island lighting, there are several ways you can position lighting. It will depend on the size, shape, and number of pendants and may need to coincide with the location of a sink, cooktop, or vent hood in the background.
When picking out lighting for your home, the most important thing to remember is it’s a personal decision. In most cases, there is no right or wrong way. You can choose to showcase unique art-like pieces, follow your favorite designer, be super trendy, or not follow the trends at all. It’s all up to you and what you want to look at and live with. Having a designer to bounce ideas off of can get a great brainstorming session going and most often leads to some great selections for your space. We want to make selecting lights a fun part of your designing process!
Pro Tip – Take a photo of your space, or a floor plan, to our lighting showroom where we have trained lighting consultants to discuss your options and help you choose the best fixtures for your home.
