Carrie’s Hallmark is a third-generation family business. My parents, Jim and Irene Tergin, took over the dry cleaners owned by my grandparents, George and Ourania, and named the store after me when I was 4 years old in 1976. Now, 46 years later, it is fun to carry on the tradition of great customer service and the best selection of gifts for any occasion in beautiful downtown Jefferson City! We love our community, and it was an honor to serve as mayor of the capital city for the last eight years.

My parents started the tradition of free gift wrapping, filling the store with an abundance of gifts, and working extra hard to take care of our customers. My favorite thing about working with family is the pride we take in every aspect of your visit, saying hi and making sure you have the very best experience when you come to Carrie’s Hallmark! We continue to add items to our shelves, it’s always fun to walkthrough the store and see what’s new!

The success of the business stems from the high value I place on my employees and customers. Many of the employees began working at the shop in high school. Some have even gone off to college only to return to learn the business. Stephanie Crane began working here as a teenager, and this year she is celebrating 25 years at the store. Courtney Siebeneck also began working here in high school. After graduating from MU, Courtney continued to learn every aspect of the business and now manages the store.Shawn Luetkemeyer has also worked for us for decades! We have a great team ready to serve you and help you find the perfect gift for you or someone you love!
