WHAT IS YOUR AREA OF EXPERTISE?

My clinical specialty is in critical care and oncology pharmacy. As business development director, I help Capital Region identify and implement  new service opportunities and plan for growth.

WHAT PROMPTED YOUR INTEREST IN THIS PROFESSION?

My father was the first Director of Pharmacy at the original Still Hospital and later owned a retail pharmacy in Jefferson City. I enjoyed going to work with him at the hospital and then in his store.

WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY?

Be a good listener as listening is the key to understanding and learning. Listen to your colleagues, employees, and customers because they help set the direction of your business.

WHAT MAKES YOU AND YOUR COMPANY STAND OUT FROM YOUR COMPETITION?

I feel Capital Region is not only a true community hospital, but a healthcare system that provides our community incredible access to innovative healthcare services.

21 years on the CRMC medical staff; 8 years as VPMA.

WHAT IS YOUR AREA OF EXPERTISE?

As a physician, Internal Medicine is where I see patients 18 and older. As the VPMA, I have oversight of physicians, advanced practice nurses, and physician’s assistants who practice at CRMC. I also oversee quality and patient safety throughout CRMC (hospital and clinics), graduate medical education, and medical staff offices.

WHAT PROMPTED YOUR INTEREST IN THIS PROFESSION?

I have always wanted to help people. As a physician, I serve my patients and help them and their families through what are sometimes difficult times as my patients become older.

WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY?

I believe our business is to serve our patients, families, and other community members who are affected by our work in the best way possible. Through great quality and service, we can improve the health of our communities across our area of the state.

Oncology – Treatment of patients with cancer using various forms of radiation.

WHAT PROMPTED YOUR INTEREST IN THIS PROFESSION?

Many of my family and friends were affected by cancer. My parents both passed away from cancer by the time I was 17. This affected me deeply, and I wanted to help others affected the way I was.

HOW DOES YOUR PROFESSION BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY?

We help people when they are at their most vulnerable. They might be scared, unsure, worried, anxious, and it’s our job to do everything we can to help them find peace of mind in their care plan and that we will be with them every step of the way.
