Ken Brooks has joined Jefferson City Medical Group as chief information officer. Brooks brings 20 years of information technology and program management experience to the group. He is a project management professional and Six Sigma Green Belt. He also has an Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation certification. In addition to his information systems credentials, Brooks is experienced in strategic planning, business process re-engineering, and quality management.

Dr. Jason Showmaker, otolaryngologist at Capital Region Physicians – ENT and Audiology, is now board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Showmaker received his medical degree from the MU School of Medicine, where he also completed his surgical training at the Department of Otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency program. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, and the Missouri Society of Otolaryngologists.

Nathan Kempf has accepted the position of development manager for Missouri KidsFirst. Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in literature from Westminster College and a master’s in literature from MU.  Prior to joining Missouri KidsFirst, Nathan advocated for consumers and performed community outreach with the Missouri Department of Insurance. He spent many years teaching literature and composition at MU.

Dr. William “Russ” Carpenter has joined Capital Region Physicians Center for Mental Wellness. Carpenter received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his psychiatry residency at the MU School of Medicine. Carpenter is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Michael Misko has been named president of physician and ambulatory services for SSM Health’s mid-Missouri and northwest Missouri regions. Misko brings 27 years of clinical experience and nearly 10 years of executive leadership in rural and community-based health care settings to the role. Misko began working for SSM Health on August 15, and he is responsible for the growth and management of physician practices as well as post-acute and ambulatory operations across mid-Missouri and northwest Missouri.

Kelly R. Tiffany has been promoted to consumer lending operations manager – bank officer for Providence Bank. In her role, Tiffany oversees lending operations, manages the consumer loan portfolio, handles consumer loan collections, and will be responsible for analyzing current system parameters to ensure a seamless customer experience through the loan application process. Tiffany joined Providence Bank in 2006 and has over 21 years of banking and lending experience.

Matt Johnson has joined the KRCG 13 team as news director. Matt has worked for the past three years for KOMU as content manager. Matt has also worked in Minneapolis, MN, Jackson, MS and Chattanooga, TN in assignment managing, anchoring, and reporting roles. He is a graduate of the MU School of Journalism and has a strong background in digital content and social media integration.

Marc Ellinger, Amy Freeman, and Lorelei Schwartz have been awarded Governance Excellence Certificates by the Missouri Hospital Association for completing MHA’s voluntary educational program for hospital board members. The Governance Excellence Certificate Program was launched in 2011 to enhance hospital trustees’ skills and provide them with incr eased knowledge of issues in hospital governance to help them make effective decisions for their organizations. To earn recognition, Ellinger, Freeman, and Schwartz attended a one-day session at MHA’s annual convention in November 2015 and were required to complete six of eight independent study modules.

Daron Williams has been hired as a small engine repair technician for U.S. Rents-It.  He will be serving customers in the Jefferson City location. Williams has achieved bronze certification as a Stihl technician, and he most recently served as an ASE-certified automotive technician for 14 years.

Justin Twyman has been hired as team partner in the equipment rental department for U.S. Rents-It. He maintains and services equipment, loads and unloads trailers, instructs his customers on equipment use, and provides quality service to customers.

Jason Ruediger has been promoted to team leader at U.S. Rents-It, where he supervises his equipment rental staff. He trains employees on equipment service, equipment knowledge, and customer relations. He has also achieved bronze certification as a Stihl technician.

Kathy Pabst, executive director of the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians, has earned the Certified Association Executive designation. To be designated as a CAE, an applicant must have a minimum of three years’ experience with nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management.

Alex Christgen is the new executive director for the Center for Public Safety, effective immediately. Christgen filled the role on an interim basis after the vacancy created by Becky Miller’s departure in October 2015. Christgen has been with CPS since 2011. Excellence and collaboration are points of emphasis for Alex as she continues with CPS, a nonprofit dedicated to improving patient safety across the continuum of care.

Reggie Vaden, Jefferson City’s only colorectal surgeon, has earned the status of shareholder with JCMG. Shareholder status in JCMG is conferred by a vote of the board of directors. It requires that the physician have a growing medical practice and a high level of achievement in their medical field.

Autumn Han, is joining Capital Region Physicians – Pediatrics. Dr. Han received her medical degree from the MU School of Medicine, and she completed her pediatric internship and residency at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics through the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Dr. Han is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
