Healthy snacking and making others happy doesn’t get much easier than this Hummus+ recipe. It’s perfect for those who want to contribute, but don’t love to cook or run short on time. Procrastinators rejoice! When it comes to hosting or being a guest, serving this light and easy appetizer is never a bad idea. This twist on traditional hummus is completely customizable. Add or subtract any ingredient that will suit the party — now that’s a plus!
Ingredients:
+ 8 ounces hummus
+ 1/2 Roma tomato, diced
+ 1/2 cucumber, diced
+ 4 ounces crumbled feta cheese
+ black pepper & salt to taste
Instructions: 1. Dice your tomatoes and cucumbers. 2. Combine in a bowl with crumbled feta cheese, salt, and pepper. 3. Mix together. 4. Place on top of the hummus, and serve with assorted crackers.
Traveling Tip: Instead of transferring the hummus to a separate bowl, add the ingredients right to the package the (store-bought) hummus comes in, and then use the same lid for packing. There’s usually enough room in the container to add ingredients, but if you prefer a higher topping-to-hummus ratio, simply remove some of the hummus before adding.
