James’ Third Update

James

Age: 33

Occupation: Director of Technology Support & Services

How did you work with your trainer over the stay-at-home order? We used Marco Polo, Zoom, and texting to get support and send updates on our progress.

Did your workouts change at all? My workouts definitely changed, partly because of COVID-19, but also because my family moved to a new house during this time. A lot of workouts were replaced with activities around the house. I also began running more frequently on the greenway trails around town.

Did you use items around the house, or were you able to borrow equipment? Erin was gracious enough to let me borrow some dumbbells during the stay-at-home order, as most shops around town and online were sold out of equipment.

How often did you join virtual workouts? I tried to attend at least two virtual workouts a week, which were really helpful for staying motivated and connected with the trainers and all the other members of Studio573.

Did your trainer give you any suggestions on how to keep from snacking at home? A bit before the stay-at-home order was issued, I began a nutrition plan from Isagenix. This really helped me keep on track with my meals and kept me from snacking too much. I actually lost the most weight during the stay-at-home order, probably because of a mix of constant activity and a bit of stress from all the constraints put in place.
