Quilt Auction and Solar Eclipse Viewing @ Camp Covenant Point

The day will begin with a quilt auction at 10:00 with lunch to follow.  Attendees will be able to view the progession of the eclipse with solar glasses provided.  Camping facilities are available for lodging, as well as RV sites (see website for reservations and rates).  Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children 3-12.  Go to www.mupresbytery.org to purchase tickets and to reserve lodging.
Foodstock- Solar Eclipse Festival @ Corporate Lake

Foodstock is a festival celebrating the total solar eclipse with live music, food trucks, beer tents, restaurants, local craft vendors, games, hot air balloons, kids area, fireworks, contests and more hosted by Serve It Up CoMo at Corporate Lake behind Las Margaritas! The South Side of Columbia has never seen an event like this.

Foodstock is FREE to attend, shop, and learn and eat for all ages! The time of totality for the eclipse begins at 1:12pm and lasts more than 2 and a half minutes here in Columbia, so thousands are coming in from around the country to get our view. Fireworks will begin at 8pm.

Come out and have a drink and eat your fill! We are offering Beer Tent wristbands (21 and over only) for $15 ($20 after July 31st) sold onsite for three drinks, as well as Restaurant wristbands for $15 ($20 after July 31st) to sample all the food in the evening. All wristbands can be purchased at The Grind including our food+drink+tshirt combo for $27 ($37 after July 31st).

Our stage will feature area folk, country, rock, and blues bands and musicians throughout the event. At this event we want to focus on doing good for the community, sustainability, and throwing it back to the good times at Woodstock.

We’ll be hosting food trucks from 11-3:30, and restaurants from 3:30-8 to continue to celebrate our community culture of food appreciation.

Serve It Up CoMo benefits six local nonprofits by partnering each with a chef, junior chef, and business sponsor throughout our summer and fall campaign. All proceeds raised throughout the campaign will be divided among the nonprofits at our final event in November.

Total Solar Eclipse Golf Tournaments benefiting the Boy Scouts @ Jefferson City Country Club

The Great Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host simultaneous golf tournaments during the total solar eclipse that will come through Mid-Missouri on August 21st. Tournaments will be held at the Jefferson City Country Club and the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia. Capital Chalk Art Fair Call to chalk CAPITAL STREET ART will be held in conjunction with JAZZFEST on Saturday, September 9th at Riverside Park in Jefferson City. Watch the sidewalks come alive during JAZZFEST. If you have never participated in Street Art we encourage you to join in a day of music, creativity and fun. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners.

Sign Up Today! Registration is limited. Drawing is done directly on the sidewalks – just like graffiti. You may begin working at any time after 12:30p.m. A registration table will be set up near the Amphitheatre for chalk pick-up and you will be directed as to where to begin your Street Art. You will have an assigned workspace to chalk. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded in the following weeks. Let your imagination run wild. Reproduce a renaissance painting, a family photograph, a still-life, a cartoon, or portrait – whatever you want.

• Fill out application form. You can print an application at www.capitalarts.org under the artist tab – call to chalk. Also you can pick up a copy in the gallery. Application deadline is September 1st, 2017.
